Eamon De Valera died on the 29th of August 1975, here we have a piece written on De Valera by Sean McEntee. It is from the Winter 1975 edition of “Iris Fianna Fail” the Fianna Fail Party Journal.  It is a lovely bit of history and I have also included the “De Valera Pictures” part of the paper.

A ‘De Valera for President’ paper badge- 1959 Presidential Election June 22, 2013

From the 1959 Presidential Election a small paper De Valera for President badge.
Many thanks to the sender who notes…

You can’t tell from the photo, but it’s actually just a little bigger than the size of a stamp. And, interestingly, there are two tiny holes in it, suggesting it was worn as a type of badge.

From the 1959 Presidential Election and Referendum on the Change of voting system ,From Fianna Fail ‘Dev For President’ and ‘Abolish PR’.
“You must prevent future bad Governments by Abolishing P.R.”
Interesting to see too that PR is blamed for all sorts including having failed in Germany and Yugoslavia.
