Flyer from Sean McCarthy -The Workers Party- 1994 Cork South Central By-Election October 22, 2015

From the 1994 Cork South Central by-election a leaflet from Sean McCarthy who was running for the Workers Party. He polled 813 votes. He is pictured with Ted Tynan (a WP councillor from 1979-82 and again from 2009) who was one of 5 anti service charges protesters in Cork jailed in 1990. Sean is still an active WP member.

From the 1997 General Election a flyer from Michael Martin, Batt O’Keefe and John Dennehy running for Fianna Fail in Cork South Central. All three were elected.

From the 2004 Local Elections a leaflet from Fianna Fail candidate Sean Martin who was running in the Cork South Central Ward for a seat on Cork City Council. Martin was elected polling 1,191 votes.
Originally co-opted to the council in 1997 to replace his brother, and now Fianna Fail leader, Micheál Martin, Seán Martin was reelected in 1999, 2004 and 2009. He was Lord Mayor of Cork for 2004-2005.

Leaflet from Kathleen Lynch -Democratic Left- 1992 General Election Cork South Central September 4, 2011

From the 1992 General Election a leaflet from Kathleen Lynch of the Democratic Left running in Cork South Central. Lynch, now a Junior Minister with the Labour Party, was one of the group that split from The Workers Party to form Democratic Left.
In this election she polled 2,539 and failed to win a seat. She did however win a seat in the 1994 Cork North Central by Election. That by-election and Eric Byrnes victory in Dublin South Central, allowed the formation of the Rainbow coalition.
